Lawrenceburg native Nick Goepper is excited to share stories from his globetrotting and inspiring career which began at Perfect North Slopes and saw him win medals in three different Olympics (Sochi in 2014, PyeongChang in 2018 and Beijing in 2022). Nick was also a medalist at the World Championships in 2013 and 2019.

Dearborn County Young Professionals Announce 2020 Scholarship

Part of Dearborn County Young Professionals’ mission is to support the next generation of outstanding individuals and entrepreneurs in our community.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Part of Dearborn County Young Professionals’ mission is to support the next generation of outstanding individuals and entrepreneurs in our community. One of the ways the organization does that is by offering our DCYP Future Leaders of Dearborn County Scholarships.

The organization is awarding scholarships. Eligible individuals include Dearborn County residents who are a senior in high school or home school set to graduate in spring 2020.

Applicants are required to show their work experience, school activities, and community volunteer efforts. They must also complete an essay about an idea for a new or improved business in Dearborn County.

A successful applicant should include two letters of recommendation from teachers or professionals outside of their immediate family. A copy of the student’s most recent report card or transcript is also requested.

Announcing the 2018 Dearborn County Women of Distinction!

 

For the 13th year in a row, the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce will be honoring four  individuals for their fantastic contributions to the community. These women were chosen based on the positive impact they have had on Dearborn County and their ability to inspire others to work toward bettering the region.

The 2018 recipients of the Women of Distinction Award recipients are Joyce Baer. Mary Helen Crook, Karen Snyder and Nancy Fahey Turner.

Highpoint Health will once again be hosting a women’s health expo in conjunction with the Women of Distinction Luncheon. The expo will start at 9am and run to 2pm at the Lawrenceburg Event Center. DCYP GOOFY GOLF OUTING TEES OFF AUGUST 10

Dearborn County Young Professionals’ eighth annual Goofy Golf Outing features a few fun challenges that you won’t find at other charitable golf events.

Golf outings are usually dominated by the players who take their game seriously, but this one levels the playing field for those who just like to have fun. While some holes at this quick nine-hole, four-person team scramble will be played the traditional way, others will require teams to play with a tennis ball or putt with a plastic flamingo.

Goofy Golf will take place Friday, August 10 at Hidden Valley Golf Club, 19775 Alpine Drive, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Check-in/registration begins at the clubhouse at 5:30 p.m. and tee time is 6:00 p.m. 

Following the fun on the picturesque course, players will gather in the clubhouse for dinner, drinks, and networking. DCYP will also hand out trophies and prizes to the first-place team, The last-place team will receive the coveted Goofy Golf Horse’s Behind trophies. There will also be some on-course competitions for which prizes will be given.

This DCYP event is open to everyone. Cost is $30 per person for DCYP members and employees or owners of Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce member businesses. Registration includes your cart fee, round of golf and all all-you-can-eat buffet after golf. Teams of up to four people can register to play together.

Funds raised in the DCYP Goofy Golf Outing will go towards DCYP’s high school business planning competition and the DCYP Scholarship Fund benefiting students at Dearborn County’s three high schools: East Central, Lawrenceburg, and South Dearborn.

AIM YP BUSIN’ IT FOR ANNUAL PUB CRAWL FEB. 2

Enjoy a fun night of networking on the go! Register today for AIM Young Professionals of Dearborn County’s 7th Annual YP Pub Crawl on Friday, February 2, 2018.

The evening will begin and end at the City of Lawrenceburg parking garage at 50 Walnut Street. Check in starts at 6:15 p.m. and the bus takes off at 6:45.

This year’s pub crawl bus stops will include Willie’s Sports Cafe in Hidden Valley, One More Bar & Grille in Bright, Maverick’s Firewater Grill in Greendale, and The Levee Breaker in Lawrenceburg. The party bus will also make a stop for pizza at Snappy Tomato Pizza in Bright.

Every person aboard the bus will receive a complimentary AIM YP Pub Crawl shirt! Register by January 22 to guarantee a shirt in your desired size. Door prizes will also be awarded.

The AIM YP Pub Crawl is restricted to adults age 21 and older. Please include a note with your email address, the names of your attendees, and their respective shirt sizes.

If you are not an AIM YP member, you can still get the member rate for the Pub Crawl by purchasing or renewing your membership. The membership cost is $25 a year for an individual who is an employee of a business which belongs to the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce. Employees of non-chamber member businesses still pay only $35 per year.

AIM YP CORPORATE FIT CHALLENGE

AIM YP is teaming up with Aurora Anytime Fitness to throw our 1st Corporate Fit Challenge! This is an excellent opportunity to improve your health, to network, and team building. The Corporate Fit Challenge is a 4 week program that can be tailored to your schedule.

Here is what you can expect with the Corporate Fit Challenge:

A). Kick-Off Event: This will take place on Thursday, January 18th at the Anytime Fitness in Aurora, IN. Shyla will go over the program, take individual measurements, and schedule  upcoming appointments.

B). Three one-on-one coaching sessions:
*Tracking weight, inches and body fat
*Goal setting
*Learn movements to do on your own
*Motivation and accountability
*Modify exercises as you progress
*Coaching on nutrition, food plan

C). Five weekly team training sessions. There are multiple classes daily to choose from

D). Once a week small group sessions

E). Email and text support with your coach

F). Private Facebook page

G). Grand Finale Celebration

H). All participants have the use of the Anytime Fitness-Aurora during staffed hours for the 4 week challenge.

ARTSWAVE YP CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF CELEBRATION

 

Support the tri-state arts community and hang with other young professionals at the ArtsWave YP Campaign Kick-Off Celebration.

Dearborn County Young Professionals members are invited to the event to be held Wednesday, February 28 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 1225 Elm Street, in Cincinnati.

More than 350 young professionals from companies across Greater Cincinnati will gather to kick off the 2018 ArtsWave Community Campaign. The celebration will include networking and feature a sampling of entertainment from ArtsWave-supported organizations, light bites, and a drink ticket will be provided.

Single tickets are available for $35, but DCYP will reimburse up to 10 members who purchase a ticket and prove they attended the event. Contact DCYP committee member Cara Brooks at Cara.Brooks@duke-energy.com for reimbursement.

Companies are also welcome to buy blocks of tickets for their YP employees. Group ticket purchases of at least 8 tickets are $25 per ticket. To purchase group tickets, contact Amanda McDonald at (513) 632-0131 or email Amanda.McDonald@artswave.org.
