State Chamber Releases Updated Legislative Agenda

Each year the state Chamber releases guidance on the legislation they find important to create a strong business climate in the state. Generally about halfway through the session they update their priorities.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s second edition of the 2018 Legislative Agenda is now available. This document details bills introduced in the Indiana House and Senate that the Chamber has taken a position on and the reason for that stance. This publication provides clear input on issues that not only affect the Indiana business community, but communities, families and individuals throughout the state.

As you will note, all legislation labeled “job-killers” was successfully defeated in the first half of the session and therefore not in this new document. A number of our positions have also changed due to modifications – mostly sought-after improvements – made to the bills.

In addition to being online, this information is sent directly to legislators. We plan to use votes on the bills – those that make it to the House or Senate floor – contained in this document in our annual Legislative Vote Analysis, which scores legislators on their voting record.
