“2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year” award to Caring First Home Health LLC
April 20th, 2016
“Caring First Home Health LLC began operations in October, 2007. Staffed by two Registered Nurses in the office, the Owner, Jacqueline Pelzel RN providing nursing services in the field, and a very gracious Physical Therapist named David Carter MPT, they began their quest for patients. After a year of self-funding operations, acquiring the needed ten patients and undergoing an unscheduled visit by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Caring First Home Health became Medicare Accredited in February 2009, followed in short order by Indiana Medicaid Certification. Through the years they have outgrown the small office they rented, then outgrew a small home they had purchased and ended up building a 1500 sq. ft. addition onto the home to accommodate all of the inside staff.
Caring First Home Health provides medical and non-medical services to residents in the Southeastern Indiana counties of Dearborn, Franklin, Ripley, Union, Decatur, Switzerland and Ohio. They currently plan to extend their coverage area by two additional counties. They currently have 8 Office Staff and 65 healthcare workers in the field, 28 of which are Franklin County residents. Additionally, their patient/client load is 178 with 58 of those patients residing in Franklin County. There is a prevalent need for home healthcare in Franklin County and Caring First Home Health is there to respond to those in need.”
It was the “2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year” award to Caring First Home Health LLC. The narrative of the award reads “ For their distinguished contributions to the county in the areas of Environment, Leadership, Education and who supports Diverse Workforce Development, Strong Stakeholder Relationships, and Governance.”
